Kirkman® Inositol is offered in a pure, soluble hypoallergenic powder. Once thought to be a vitamin, inositol is now understood to be involved in certain chemical signaling processes that serve to transmit messages inside cells. It is also considered to be a lipotropic agent that interacts with the metabolism of fats and helps prevent inappropriate deposition of fat in organs such as the liver. While inositol has been used as an ingredient in multivitamin formulations for decades, its internal cell activities are still being researched.
When our body tissues are finished with inositol, some of it is changed into glucuronate, a pre-cursor of Vitamin C, and which is an important detoxifier.
